An American man was arrested ahead of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Wednesday night after he allegedly made threats against her and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
The 34-year-old stalker, whose identity has not been revealed, held a ticket for the concert at Veltins-Arena but was stopped at an entry check, according to the Associated Press.
He allegedly made threats against the world-famous couple on social media and event organizers warned authorities.
He was reportedly detained after “an initial investigation couldn’t entirely rule out a risk.”
The man was reportedly ordered to be held behind bars until Saturday after Swift wraps up her three back-to-back shows in the city.
Swift, 34, is currently touring through Europe on her record-breaking tour and will next stop in Hamburg for two nights before moving on to Munich for three shows.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, also 34, supported the “Karma” singer at her first two shows in Germany and was seen lovingly wrapping his arm around her shoulder as they exited the stage on Thursday night.
Kelce has been following his Grammy-winning girlfriend around the globe since his team won the Super Bowl in February. In addition to the two nights in Germany, he has attended performances in Buenos Aires, Sydney, Singapore, Paris, London, Dublin and Amsterdam.
However, he will likely take a break from his world travels as Chiefs training camp has begun at Missouri Western State University.
Swift’s tour will run through Dec. 8, but she will reportedly try to make every NFL game her schedule will allow.
Last year, she made it to 13 Kansas City Chiefs games — her lucky number — including the Super Bowl to watch her beau clinch his third championship ring.
She impressively jetted off to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas after performing four concerts in Japan and used the 17-hour time difference to her advantage to land back in the US a full day before the big game.
After Swift and Kelce took their relationship public last fall, the singer made it known she would support her beau loudly and proudly despite previously keeping her love life on the quiet side.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she explained in her 2023 Time Person of the Year profile.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
