The Elephant Nature Park, located in Northern Thailand, is a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating elephants and other animals like dogs, cats, and pigs.
One of the park’s youngest residents, Pyi Mai, is still learning to feed herself. Her mother, Khuam Moon, and her nanny, Sri Nuan, are there to guide her, especially when it comes to eating pumpkins.
Watch the video at the end.
Pyi Mai loves to explore the expansive fields, often treating pumpkins like toys. She enjoys rolling them around, not knowing how to break them open. Her mother and nanny patiently teach her by demonstrating the process.
Khuam Moon uses her feet to open the pumpkin, showing her baby how it’s done. Pyi Mai watches closely and soon figures out the technique. After a few attempts, she splits the pumpkin and takes a bite.
Seeing Pyi Mai enjoy her meal brings Khuam Moon and Sri Nuan joy. The baby elephant’s enthusiasm and quick learning are heartwarming, showcasing the strong bond and effective teaching between the adult elephants and their young ones.
Pyi Mai’s delight in her achievement is evident as she happily munches on the pumpkin, savoring the treat provided by her attentive mother and nanny.
