The Ghanaian returned to training yesterday after being out for nearly three months with a hamstring injury. But Thomas Partey’s long-term future at the Emirates remains unclear.
Arsenal signed Partey from Atletico Madrid in 2020 after activating the midfielder’s £45m release clause. The 30-year-old star was one of the best midfielders in La Liga at the time, and he also played excellently for the Gunners.
However, injuries have caused trouble for Partey . He only missed 7 matches in his entire career before joining Emirates Stadium, but has had to sit out more than 65 matches for club and country since then.
Partey reportedly intended to leave Arsenal last summer. Now, AS claim Partey is likely to leave Arsenal at the end of this season and Barcelona are keeping an eye on his situation. However, the Catalan team is facing a problem: their financial situation does not allow them to spend large amounts of money. Meanwhile, Arsenal is unlikely to let Partey leave for a small fee.
