That is the story of the Ukrainian high jump ‘goddess’, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, when she often lies down to relax while waiting for her opponents to perform at the 2024 Olympics.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh attracted great attention from the media and fans, not only because she just won the first gold medal for the Ukrainian delegation at this year’s Summer Olympics but also because her appearance is so… attractive.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh, 23 years old, won the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the silver medal at the 2019 and 2022 World Championships, the gold medal at the 2022 World Indoor Championships and the silver medal at the 2024 World Indoor Championships. With her beautiful figure, Yaroslava has been called the “Goddess of High Jump” by many international sports fans.
At this Olympics, Yaroslava Mahuchikh attracted attention when she often brought a sleeping bag to the competition field. And while other athletes were still focusing on competing or watching their opponents, Mahuchikh was… lying in her sleeping bag relaxing as if she didn’t care about current events.
Although there are opinions that Yaroslava showed disrespect to her opponents. The Ukrainian athlete explained that this was the way to help her feel most comfortable, not to worry too much about the match and also to help herself not feel too much pressure about her opponent’s performance.
“It’s like a way to relax and forget that I’m competing,” the Ukrainian athlete said. “I just felt very comfortable lying down.”

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is considered the ‘Goddess of high jump’ because of her beautiful figure and face
In the long jump final on August 4, Yaroslava Mahuchikh and her colleague Nicola Olyslagers both cleared the 2.10m bar, a world record. But Mahuchikh was awarded the gold medal because she needed fewer jumps to reach this bar than her opponent.
Previously, at the Diamond League athletics tournament in Paris in July, Mahuchikh also successfully cleared this bar, thereby officially breaking the old high jump record that had stood for 37 years. The previous record was set by Bulgarian athlete Stefka Kostadinova in Rome in 1987, at 2.09m.
