Coach Erik Ten Hag affirmed that Anthony Martial’s absence will create a hole in the Manchester United squad. However, the Financial Fair Play Law does not allow the Old Trafford team to recruit more strikers in the Eastern market.
The Dutch strategist shared:
“I looked at signing a striker), but there is no space left on the FFP (Financial Fair Play) to do something about the shortage of strikers.”
“Of course, we have Rashford , who can play as a striker.”
“I think we also have some other alternatives, creative players. But obviously, now that Martial is out for a few weeks , or a few months, there’s a gap in our squad.”
Obviously, there will be opinions that Man Utd should recruit more strikers on loan. However, at the present time, it will be very difficult for them to ask to borrow a top striker because there are very few quality “number 9s” in the transfer market.
