The American singer has been banned from leaving the country after failing to resolve his troubles with the concert organizer.
On the evening of July 21, Chris Brown had a concert in Manila, Philippines. On the morning of July 22, when the singer was about to board a private plane from Manila International Airport to Hong Kong for the next concert, he was stopped.
The Philippine Department of Justice said it received a request on the night of July 21 to prevent the singer from leaving the country. The reason is that Chris Brown has not yet paid the money that the promoters of a previous show said he owed them. According to the complaint, the singer was scheduled to perform at the Philippines Arena in Bulacan, North of Manila on New Year’s Eve last year but did not appear.
According to the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, both the singer and his agent, John Michael Pio Roda, are banned from leaving the country. They can leave after clarifying the case with the Philippine Department of Justice.
This is not the first time the singer has had trouble with the authorities of the countries where he has toured. In February, Chris Brown had to cancel a show in Canada because he was denied entry, related to his criminal past. The singer was previously placed on probation for five years for beating his ex-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, in 2009. Chris has also been arrested several times for assault.
