the first U.S. Olympic gymnast to win two all-around golds and broke a
120-year-old record by becoming the only U.S. gymnast with six Olympic gold
medals. She also joined the exclusive club of two-time Olympic all-around
champions, standing alongside legends Larisa Latynina and Vera Caslavska. This
record-breaking night left her husband, Jonathan Owens, in absolute awe.
The Chicago Bears safety Owens traveled over 6,000 miles, despite the ongoing NFL
training camp, thanks to some special leeway from his team. But now, the besotted
NFL hulk has to head back to his duties. Before leaving, Owens took to Instagram
on August 2nd, sharing a snap of his Beam Queen, Simone, and writing, “Greatness
$1 | love you so much baby @ a ® You accomplish whatever you set your mind
to, and do it with so much grace. 9 time Olympic medalist and counting!!!! So proud

Jonathan Owens has snagged some time off from July 29 to August 3, which means
he’ll soon be heading back to the U.S. before Simone Biles aims to rack up more
medals at the remaining gymnastics finals. The schedule for the remaining days of
gymnastics in Paris is packed with excitement: August 3 kicks off with the women’s
vault final, August 4 features the uneven bars final, and August 5 brings a
double-header with the balance beam final and the floor exercise final.
The Bears initially thought Owens would be out for a week, but he assured them his
Paris getaway would be shorter. Coach Matt Eberflus is all in for this Olympic
support mission, saying, “Just because we respect the Olympics. That is a big deal.
And he’s just supporting the one he loves the most. And | think that’s so cool that
he gets to do that. We welcome that and it’s gonna be awesome. Go USA.”
