Conservative media personality Megyn Kelly has spoken out against tech mogul Elon Musk, criticizing his growing interest in television and entertainment. During a recent episode of her podcast, Kelly expressed her disapproval of Musk’s involvement in the TV world, advising him to “stick to what he does best — tech.”
Musk, who has made headlines for his high-profile acquisitions and innovative ventures in technology, including Tesla and SpaceX, has increasingly been dipping his toes into the entertainment industry. His commentary on social media about various TV shows, and even hints at potentially buying media networks, has sparked controversy. Most recently, Musk made waves by criticizing long-running shows like The View and teasing the idea of acquiring a major network like ABC.
Kelly, however, finds this shift unnecessary and unwelcome. “I have a lot of respect for what Elon has achieved in tech, but TV is not his lane. It’s one thing to enjoy shows or even critique them, but the constant meddling is too much,” Kelly said during her show. She suggested that Musk should focus on the industries where his talents and expertise have already made a massive impact.
While Kelly acknowledges Musk’s significant contributions to technology and innovation, she was firm in her stance that media and entertainment require a different skill set. “Television is about storytelling, creativity, and connection with the audience — things Elon may not fully understand,” she added.
Kelly’s remarks have sparked a debate about Musk’s expanding influence in sectors beyond technology. While some agree with her and feel that Musk’s ventures into the entertainment industry are unnecessary, others defend the billionaire’s right to explore new fields.
