Nicki Minaj has become a first-time mother when she welcomed her only son in 2020.

She gave birth on September 30, 2020 in Los Angeles.

The happy mother first shared photos of her son when he was three-month-old, showing off his rolex and Fendi onesie.

The Anaconda rapper keeps the name of her child a secret, but prefers to call him Papa Bear publicly.

Nicki told Vogue that she navigated the infancy of her son with no help whatsoever except for an occasional visit from a grandparent.

She talked openly about the anxiety she felt as a new mother.

“There’s a level of anxiety, and you think it’s going to go away, but in fact it gets scarier.

“So often you think: I don’t know how to do this!”

She has also revealed to Complex how she found motherhood fulfilling and happy, saying: “This is the ultimate blessing of the universe. There’s no greater blessing.”

When did Nicki Minaj announce her pregnancy?

Nicki first hinted she was pregnant in May when she posted about the “cravings” she was having during lockdown.

The 41-year-old rapper announced the exciting baby news on July 20 with a glam shot of herself cradling her bump on social media.

She posed kneeling on a pink bed in high heels, a pink bikini bottom and a decorated bikini top, a big smile and her arms caressing her stomach.

She captioned the photo: “#Preggers 💛”

Nicki shared a couple of other photos from the pregnancy photoshoot, all of them featuring the mother-to-be dressed in bright and sparkling attire, with her growing bump on display.

Alongside one of the pictures, she wrote: “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage.

“Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes.”

Nicki Minaj, 41, took to Instagram to reveal that she had married her high school flame Kenneth Petty on October 21, 2019.

Nicki Minaj went public with Kenneth back in December 2018, and tied the knot after apparently less than a year of dating.

But they had actually first dated when Minaj was just 16 and living in Queens, New York.

Nicki revealed this in her verse on Chance The Rapper’s track Zanies and Fools.

In the song, she said: “I met my husband when I was 17 out in Queens/ If you love it, let it go, now I know what that means.”

The rapper also told Vogue in an interview that her husband has only ever called her by her real name and was unfazed by the glamorous shell of her fame.

“Because I’ve known my husband for so long, there’s an ease we have with each other,” she explains.

“We make each other laugh. We’re silly. And we’re always reminiscing about some old story.

“If it was a guy that I met as Nicki Minaj, I think I’d feel like they liked me because I’m Nicki Minaj, and what if I don’t look like Nicki Minaj every day?

“And that, combined with pregnancy, would probably have made me crazy.”
