An Atlanta-based casting company has dropped the “Tulsa King” project following allegations that Sylvester Stallone and one of the directors disparaged some of the extras working on the Paramount+ TV series.
Atlanta-based CL Casting was hired to find actors 18 and older for the second season of the Taylor Sheridan-produced series. However, the apparent working environment on the “Tulsa King” set quickly became the subject of discussion on a Facebook page dedicated to extras in Atlanta, USA. Sylvester Stallone and an unnamed director were accused of calling some of the extras “ugly,” “grease barrel” and “fat guy with a cane.” The last commenter said it “hurt” him to hear such descriptions of himself on set.

It is alleged that Sylvester Stallone later suggested that the production put “beautiful young women around me”.
CL Casting announced on its Facebook page that it would be ending its cooperation with the film.
The announcement read: “We have chosen to abandon ‘Tulsa King’. We will be done next week and April 12 will be our last day of work.”
In a separate comment shared among extras on Facebook, Rose Locke of CL Casting urged her clients to reach out if they heard or experienced anything “toxic” on the set of “Tulsa King.” That message, along with complaints about Sylvester Stallone’s behavior, was shared by Julie Benson, a writer not affiliated with the Paramount+ drama.
Allegations of behavior on the set of “Tulsa King” have spread to other Facebook pages for extras, such as one run by Dee Dee McDaniel Simmons of South Carolina.
“Several groups of extras are talking about what happened on the set of “Tulsa King” while filming in Atlanta. At first I hoped it was just a rumor, but there have been countless people talking about what they saw, how they were treated… Sadly, Sylvester Stallone and his crew made things miserable for the extras. Many people claim that the set was completely unprofessional and chaotic,” she wrote.
“Tulsa King” is about a famous New York mafia boss, Dwight “The General” Manfredi (played by Sylvester Stallone). The film is set when Dwight is released from prison after 25 years and is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma by his boss. Realizing that the mafia family may be “indifferent” to him, Dwight gradually builds a gang to establish a new criminal empire.
